[679] Isabella was daughter and heiress of William Aslacton; the family had held for generations the manor from which they derived their name, under the Lords Deincourt. The family probably descends from Walchelin, the mesne tenant of Walter de Aincourt at Aslacton in the Domesday Book. They also held early on under the baronial family of Newmarch lands in Hawksworth and Whatton (part of the Domesday fee of Gilbert de Ghent). They were important local people - Simon de Aslacton was high sheriff of the counties of Nottingham and Derby in 1259 and 1260, and his descendant Reginald de Aslacton served in Parliament as a Knight of these shires in 1344. {ref.: "Genealogical Memoirs of the Extinct Family of Chester of Ehichly," Robert Edmon Chester Waters (London: Robson & Sons, 1878), p. 367ff..}

[51308] Milddred is presumed to be daughter of Ivyl and Josephine since Josephine died in 1918, but further research is needed! As Mildred E. Hutchings (age 9) she is listed as niece in the household of Nathaniel Ames ("general farmer") in the 1920 federal census of Orland, Hancock Co., ME - he died in 1928 which may be why Mildred was a "domestic" in 1930. A Mildred E. Hutchins (age 19) is servant in the household of Maria Ginn in the 12 April 1930 federal census of Bucksport, Hancock Co., ME.
[5157] Robert was probably born at Ormesby and died there between 4 June 1535 (will) and Sept., 1535 (proven). Children: John, Thomas, Margaret, Isabel and Robert. His wife was Margaret ______ who died at Ormesby between 1549 and 1553. Ref.: NEHGR 7/90, p.256; 10/87, p. 316. See "Revised Ancestry for William Moulton of Hampton, New Hampshire, Including Some Revisions of the Early Ancestry of His New England Cousins," Myrtle Stevens Hyde (NEHGR 7/2009, Vol. 164, No. 651), pp. 165-173. Margaret's family name may be Wattes; she was living in 1549 and is listed as a widow on the 1545 subsidy roll, a 1546 assessment roll, and a 1549 manorial survey (Public Records Office, E179-151/339, 348; SC12-24/5). In addition to Thomas, she and Robert had John, Margaret, Isabel and probably Agnes (listed as an inhabitant of Ormsby in 1587/8). "A History of the Moulton Family," W. O. Moulton and children of Stuart IA, 1905, reports that the earliest of this surname was Thomas Multon or DeMulton whom the Domesday Book of 1086 states was given the estate 'Galeshore'. Later Thomas Multon, called in French DeVaux, of Norman and Saxon descent, a resident of Gillesland in Cumberland, attended Richard I in the Crusades and is prominent in Sir Walter Scott's 'The Talisman.' The Magna Charta of 1215 contains the signature of another Thomas.
