Frederick graduated from Harvard University in 1926 and was a partner in Robert Winthrop & Co., New York City. He m. (1) 23 June 1927 Jane Hamilton Brady (b. 14 Jan 1906, d. 3 Sept 1958) with whom he had (all b. in New York City) Frederick S. Moseley, Jr. (b. 4 May 1928, m. Frederick's summer estate on Islesboro (Island) was informally called by the family the Dark Harbor house. At 117 Jetty Road, prominently sited on a 4± acre scenic knoll and surrounded by a multitude of gardens as well as water on two sides, the 'cottage' is a stunning example of Colonial Revival architecture. Grace's founder, is for sale for close to $9.8 million, making it the highest-priced home to be listed in Maine so far in 2023. Louise Grace, one of 12 children of shipping magnate and W.R. Grace founder William Russell Grace, built a house on Islesboro in 1918, following the trend of 'rusticators' at the time that constructed grand residences where they could vacation away from the heat and bustle of New York summers. The stucco home is now one of the islands landmark summer cottages. It has eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, and is for sale at almost $9.8 million. [49139] "Dr. Samuel Schoppee Silsby, 57, prominent Bangor orthopedic surgeon, died Sunday morning at a local hospital of a coronary occlusion following a week's illness. Dr. Silsby was born in Aurora October 18, 1898, the son of Herbert Trafton Silsby and Margaret (Schoppee) Silsby. He was graduated from Bangor High school in 1919 and attended the University of Maine and was graduated from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, in the class of 1926 with a MDCM degree. Dr. Silsby, a member of the staff of the Eastern Maine General Hospital, has practiced medicine and orthopedic surgery in Bangor for 30 years. He was a member of the American College of surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Maine Medical Association, the Penobscot Association of which he was a past president, and the Boston Orthopedic Club. He was a surgeon of the Reserve of the United States Public Health Service. From 1942 to 1945 he was an instructor in Military Postgraduate Medical Courses at Dow AFB. He was also a member of Lygonia Lodge, F. and A. M., of Ellsworth, Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity at the University of Maine, and Nu Sigma Nu Fraternity at McGill. He is survived by his wife, the former Ella Mae Shorey of Enfield; by five sons, Samuel S. Silsby, Jr., James Allan Silsby, David Shorey Silsby, Carl Trafton Silsby and Paul Steven Silsby, all of Bangor; by two brothers, William Sands Silsby of Ellsworth and Dr. Charles Selden Silsby of Bangor; and by three sisters, Mrs. Adelbert E. Bridges and Mrs. Leslie F. Burrill of Bangor, and Miss Alice Silsby of Aurora. Two grandchildren also survive."
