He was born in Perham, June 1, 1939, the son of the late Roy and Eva (Bishop) Bragdon. He married Joan Theriault in March of 1960. Mack was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was employed at Maine Bag Company for over 52 years. Following retirement, Mack enjoyed four-wheeling. Surviving in addition to his wife of over 63 years, Joan, are his daughter, Brenda St. Peter and husband, Clinton, of Caribou, a daughter-in-law, Tammy (Spinney) Bragdon; two sisters, Mattie Maynard and Alice Doody, both of Washburn; his grandchildren, Christopher Bragdon and wife, Raija, Matthew Bragdon, and Andrew Bragdon, and Philip St. Peter II and wife, Karie, Stephen St. Peter and wife, Dayna Sue, and Melinda Labbe and husband, Chase; several great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nola Plourde and her husband, Larry, Philip Theriault and his wife, Jean, all of Caribou, many nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Tom Bragdon. The family wishes to extend a sincere thanks to the staff at the Aroostook House of Comfort for the care and compassion shown to the Mack during the last few weeks. Mack's family also wants to recognize a special neighbor and friend, Alice Philbrick who has provided Mack and Joan with wonderful help and care through the years."

He then returned to SwanÂ’s Island to go lobstering and shrimping. He worked as an AB for the Maine State Ferry service for many years and after his retirement went back to lobstering. Donnie was well known for his love of animals, working in his barn and hunting. Donnie and his wife Bonnie enjoyed traveling in their motor home to Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and many other places. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of 28 years; sons Dusty Staples and wife Tammie, Galen (Sput) Staples and wife Janice, Kevin Staples and wife Debbie; daughter Lorrie Parady and husband Mike; stepdaughter Julie MacDonald and husband Bruce; stepson Danny Johnson and wife Rachel; nephew Doug Rich; grandchildren Joe Rodrigue, Lindsay Staples, Eric Staples, Lacey Freelove, Kyle Staples, Steve Rodrigue, Caleb MacDonald, Ezra Johnson, Lincoln Johnson, Sarah Jae MacDonald; many great grandchildren and his first wife Martha Reed. He was predeceased by his father Maynard Staples, mother Ethel Staples, sister Muriel Rich and granddaughter Christie Kennedy."
