[47866] Sarah is daughter of Vespasian Carter (1802-1859) & Abigail Hamilton (1808-1890, m. 19 October 1826 in Blue Hill, Hancock Co., ME). Sarah's obituary: "South Blue Hill - It is with sorrow that we learned of the death of Mrs. Sarah Closson of Bluehlll, which occurred on the 18th at Bangor where she went for treatment short time ago. She was the daughter of Vespasion and Abagail Carter, former residents of this place, and was one of a family of ten children, all of whom grew to manhood and womanhood. Now there is only two survivors, Mrs. Eunice M. Carter of Campobello, and Mrs. Adella N. Ferrin of this place. She leaves one daughter of Bluehill, Mrs. C. A. Gray, to mourn her loss."

[4138] Don adopted his step-daughter, Susan. His ancestry is from an unverified file in Ancestry.com in 2011. His obituary: "Donald William Helbert, 95, of Loudonville died peacefully in Brethren Care Village, Ashland, Monday evening, May 31, 2010, Memorial Day; a particularly appropriate date for a veteran proud of his service to his country. Mr. Helbert was born Nov. 23, 1914, in Hayesville, the son of Michael Henry and Ruth (Shenberger) Helbert. He lived in Loudonville most of his life and was a 37-year employee of The Flxible Company, retiring in 1978 as the supervisor of the Paint Shop. Following his official retirement, he worked more than 10 years as delivery driver for Burgess Ambulance Sales and PV Communications, both of Loudonville. Donald was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and one of the oldest life members of American Legion Post 257. He was also a life member of Loudonville Fraternal Order of Eagles. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering and repairing cars. On May 4, 1951, he married Ruth A. Paullin and they recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters and sons-in-law, Sondra Welsh of Mooresville, N.C., Susan and David Peoples of Ashland and Debra and Jerry Kirkpatrick of Loudonville; five grandchildren, Lou Ann (Michael) Alery, Jodi (Phillip) Hubert, Shauna (Matt) Pier, Cassie Kirkpatrick and Crystal (David) Bitner; and 12 great-grandchildren.
