Rev. John Denison Kingsbury D. D. was born April 19, 1831 to Joseph Kinsgbury and Eliza Whitcomb in Braintree, Orange, Vermont.
"Dr Kingsbury had full measure of Puritan blood in his veins, which did not show dilution after two centuries." (Eliot, 1913)
"When only eleven or twelve, the son [Joseph] was sent away from home to a private school, where he made good progress and was so proficient that, at fifteen years of age, he taught a district school, and was known as "the little master." " (Eliot, 1913)
"He prepared for college at Bakersfield Academy, Vermont, and entered the University of Vermont, from which he graduated in a class with several distinguished scholars in 1852, receiving the degree of M.A. He entered the Andover Theological Seminary, graduating there in 1856, and was honored with the degree of Doctor of Divinity by his Alma Mater, in 1887." (Eliot, 1913)
"Religion was not a profession with him, but his normal impulse; so conscientious, cheerful, faithful, courageous and enthusiastic was he in its expression, sparing himself nothing when he might be helpful to others." (Eliot, 1913)

Joseph married Charlotte Martha Field, daughter of William and Minerva Field, on February 5, 1861 in Brandon, Vermont.
John and Charlotte had four children. They had John Denison Kingsbury born December 2, 1861; Catharine Kingsbury born July 11, 1863; Martha Kingsbury born June 23, 1865; and Charlotte Kingsbury born October 24, 1876.
Rev. Joseph Denison Kingsbury D.D. passed away at the age of 78, on November 11, 1908, at his home, in Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts.
[3554] Northeim is a district in Lower Saxony, Germany. The city of Northeim is first mentioned in 800 in a document recording a propery transfer by a Frankish nobleman to the Abbey of Fulda. In the 10th century the wider area became a county under the Counts of Northeim. The first of them, Siegfried of Northeim is mentioned in 982. From 1061 to 1070 Count Otto II of Northeim held the duchy of Bavaria as an Imperial fief, but he lost it because of an alleged involvement in a murder plot against the king.
