Mrs. Brunton's maiden name was Ferguson; she was born at Hillsboro, Highland County, Ohio, March 11, 1812; was married to John Brunton, in Indiana, in 1833. She was the mother of 11 children, all but four of whom survive her. They came to Kansas about 1867, where her husband died March 11, 1885. The venerable lady was sick about nine weeks, and was resigned to die and be at rest in a better world. Her funeral was held in the Dunkard Church, Osawkie, December 21, at 11 a.m., Rev. A. Pearsall officiating."
