He will be forever remembered as an honorable man who faced this disease with courage and dignity, with a sense of humor and reality. Arno was born May 2, 1939, in Brewer, the son of Arno and Eleanor (Hodgins) Foster. He was an active member of Masonic Lodge No. 40, Ellsworth, and Anah Shriners and Shrine Funster's Unit, Bangor. Arno leaves behind his significant other, Lois 'Christina' Goddard and her five children; his son, Arno F. Foster III of South Berwick; his daughter, Sharon Decker and her two children, Stephanie and Alec, who lovingly earned the nickname of 'Jughead' by his grandfather, all of Millinocket; his daughter, Christine and her husband, David Holden, and their two sons, Max and Mitchell, of Nashua, N.H.; three brothers, Wayne, Richard and Eddie Foster; four sisters, Diana Higgins, Nancy Oakman, Susie Grover and Pam Gardener and their spouses; as well as several extended family members. Along with family, Arno leaves behind two very special friends, Vanessa and Bruce Shirland, with whom he shared many fond memories. In addition to his parents, Arno was predeceased by his sister, Judi Oakman. Arno touched the hearts of many people."

Irene was employed for fifty years at United Way of Eastern Maine, retiring in 1998. She was a longtime member and organist of the Dedham Congregational Church, and was master of Victor Grange of Orland. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Foster; a son, Wayne and his wife, Joan of Dedham; daughter-in-law, Marilyn 'Pokey' Gray of Orrington; grandson, Shawn Gray and his fiancée, Kim Tripp of Bangor; two granddaughters, Brandy-Jo Ellis and her husband, James of Brewer, Amanda "Mandy" Savoy and husband, Jason of Milford; one great-granddaughter, Michela Malchiodi of Brewer; two brothers, Walter 'Sonny' Gray of Dedham, Ward Gray of Orrington; a sister, Laura Horr of Dedham. Irene was predeceased by her son, Steve Gray and a brother, Warren 'Hi' Gray."

Bender, died at her home in Elliottsburg, early Friday morning, Dec 12, following an illness of a month from a complication of diseases. She was born Sept 6th, 1843, and was therefore 70 years, 8 months and 6 days old. She was the third child of a family of fourteen. Her full brothers and sisters are dead; one half-sister and four half brothers survive, viz., Mrs. John Snyder, David, George, Albert and Edward. Her mother died when she was a young girl, her father in 1883, and her step-mother in 1905. Aug. 23, 1865, she and Jacob R. Bender were married and seven children blessed them as follows: Blanche I. (Mrs. E. L. Hall) Elliottsburg; John W., Carlisle; Harriet E. (Mrs J. W. Rice), Elliottsburg; Stanley S. Kitzmiller, Md.; Nettie M., who died Nov. 13, 1889; Cloyd M , Ickesburg; Ada S. (J. C. Hench), Kistler. She had 28 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Nov 25, 1886 she was taken into the Reformed cburcb at Buffalo and at the lime of her death was a member of the Reformed churcb at Elliottsburg."
