[59256] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 25 September 2012: "Jonesport - Maxine E. Stewart, 77, of Jonesport passed away September 20, 2012 at her home. Maxine was born in Jonesport on April 29, 1935. She was the daughter of Winifred E. Wright and Sarah J. (Tracy) Wright. She grew up in Jonesport where she met and married Donald J. Stewart Sr. of the U.S. Navy. They were married for 54 years until Don passed away on November 8, 2009. Together they owned and operated Stewarts Texaco Garage for many years and Stewart's Grocery until they retired. Maxine was one of the original founding members of the Jonesport Ambulance Department where she served the community for many years as a volunteer EMT. She was also a tax assessor for the Town of Jonesport for several years. She spent her retirement years enjoying camping with her friends Dennis and Sharon Alley, geneology with Rosalie Carver and spending time with her family and friends at the Takeout. She was happiest surrounded by her great-grandchildren and her special great nephew Zachary Allen. Maxine is survived by her children; Donald J. Stewart Jr., Elizabeth A. Alley and Kelly J. Stewart. Grandchildren; Donald J. Stewart III, Samantha J. Smith, Sabrina M. Merchant, Anson J. Alley, Bronson H. Alley, Christopher E. Peaden, Jordan S. Peaden and Darrin A. Peaden. Great -Grandchildren; Taylor Stewart, Aiden Stewart, Aiden Derderian, Joshua Stewart, Jocelyn Smith, Nathan Alley, Brenna Alley and Kadence Alley. Her siblings Laura Chipman (her husband Ronald and their children Ralph Pineo and Jan Wolford), Mary Simmons (and her husband Leo and their children Noreen Baba and Norma Rolfe), Ennis Wright (and his wife Marjorie and their daughter Brenda Mitchell), Edward Wright (and his wife Belinda and their son Elwin Wright), and Ivan Wright as well as several nieces and nephews and two very special friends; Rosalie Carver and Clifford Norton III. Maxine is predeceased by her husband Don, brother Harold Wright, sister Irene Wright, Niece Nancy Eastman and a special lady and friend Ruth Kelley. A graveside service will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Jonesport."
