He was born in Blooming Grove, Ohio, on June 21, 1912. He had been a Shelby resident 46 years. He was president of Seltzer Electric Co. and was a trustee for the Health and Welfare Board and Pension Fund of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (1BEW), a National Electric Council Association (NECA) representative to the labor-management committee of IBEW, a 30-year NECA representative to the IBEW Apprenticeship Board, served on the board of directors for NECA and was treasurer and central division chairman of NECA. Survivors include his wife, Bertha; one daughter, Mrs. Frederick (Peggy) Rowller of Shelby; one sister, Mrs. Clarence (Mary) Fetter of Marion; and one grandson."

Find A Grave memorial 241536313 offers: "Lillian's parents are listed as Frances Gilman Hardy and Jasper Hardy on the record for her second marriage to Cassius Clay Whidden 14 Oct 1917 Winterport, Waldo, ME.
In the 1880 US Census, Lillian and her brother Frankie Hardy are with Abijah & Joanna Hardy (Frances' parents). They are 14 and 13. Abijah and Joanna are 64 and 54. In 1870, Frances' children are identified as Lillian and Frank Scott ages 4 and 3 with Frances and two non-related males ages 35 and 18. Fannie is 25. Frank Kelsey Hardy has a birth record for 10 January 1867 that lists his grandparents, Captain A. Wheeler Hardy & Joanna Eaton, as his parents. Lillian's obit dated 23 May 1954 states that she died on Saturday; on the 1954 calendar, the Saturday preceding Sunday the 23rd is Saturday the 22th."

Services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock, from the funeral parlors of William Earmany and Son, the Rev. C. G. Leatherman officiating. Burial will be in the Hummelstown Cemetery"
