[48507] "GoSanAngelo, 18 February 2016": "San Angelo - Rev. Neal D. Brillhart, Pastor Emeritus of Lifepoint Baptist Church (formerly Baptist Temple Church) passed away peacefully at home Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at the age of 86. Friends may call at Johnson's Funeral Home, where Rev. Brillhart will lie in state Thursday and Friday. A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Lifepoint Baptist Church, 810 Austin Street, San Angelo, Texas, with burial to follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Born to Floyd and Marie Brillhart on a farm near Mapleton, Kansas, Neal's childhood included milking cows, hunting, fishing and developing a love for nature that lasted a lifetime. After graduation from Fulton High School, where he excelled in basketball, he went to work for the Kansas State Highway Department. As a young adult, Neal accepted Christ as his personal Savior at Xenia Baptist Church. Shortly thereafter, he felt called to preach, surrendered his life and subsequently enrolled in Baptist Bible College, Springfield, Missouri. It was at college he met and married June Jayne. While attending college and early in his ministry, he supported he and his wife as a butcher. After he graduated from BBC with a degree in Theology, he and Junie moved to Girard, Kansas where they started New Testament Baptist Church. A few years later, Neal accepted the pastorate of West Side Baptist Church of Emporia, Kansas. He pastored in Emporia for 15 years prior to moving to San Angelo, Texas, to pastor Baptist Temple Church (currently Lifepoint Baptist Church). After 29 years as Senior Pastor of Baptist Temple Church, Neal retired and was awarded the title of Pastor Emeritus. Neal continued to teach his Sunday school class for another 12 years before his health deprived him of pursuing his passion of teaching the Bible he knew so well and loved sharing. Neal was preceded in death by his parents; brother Raymond Brillhart; sister Lois Maxwell; and great-granddaughter Jupiter Hernandez. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, June; daughters Nealla St. Clair and husband John and Juanna Bohannan and husband Bill; son Daniel Brillhart; grandchildren Amy Barber, Erin St Clair and husband Andy Hernandez and Shane VanZandt; step-grandchildren Tracy Autem and husband J.W., Todd Bohannan and Trevor Bohannan and wife Amanda; great-grandchildren Andrew Barber and Luna and Jasper Hernandez; step-great-grandchildren Alexander, Gideon and Josephine Autem and Mikayla and Aiden Bohannan; sister Dona Edwards and husband Dick; sister-in-law Josephine Brillhart; as well as numerous nieces and nephews."

[5878] Roger is given as Margaret's father by James Henry Mason, "The Dudley Genealogies" (Glendale, California, 1987), p.14. He states, p. 3: "Edwin, Earl of Mercia, was Lord Dudley before the Norman Conquest. He was slain in 1071 by the Normans, and his Dudley estates were given to William Fitz Ausculph or Ansculf. The Domesday Book says: `the said William holds Dudley and there is his castle.' The date was 14 William I (1080). The castle was probably inherited by a daughter of Fitz Ausculph who married a Paganel. Fulke Paganel [see ID5998 - AEM] came into possession of Dudley soon after Fitz Ausculph's time. He was succeeded by his son Ralph. The eldest of Ralph's six sons was Gervase, who inherited Dudley and built a priory there about 1161. King Henry II demolished Dudley Castle in 1175, because Gervase Paganel aided his rebellious son Henry. Hawyse, daughter of Gervase Paganel, now inherited the estate. She married John de Somery. Their son Ralph was heir in 1194, and died in 1208. His son and heir, William Perceval de Somery, left the estate to his son Nicholas, who died in 1229, leaving the estate to his uncle, Roger. About 1262 Roger de Somery `began to make a castle of his manor house at Dudley.' He was a warrior and had license from the king to castellate his manor. He died in 1273, and two more de Somery lords of Dudley occupied the castle. The castle now passed to the Sutton family when John de Sutton married Margaret de Somery." The site of the castle had been fortified since about 700 A.D. See Roger de Someri and his ancestry!
