[37009] This person is from the Ritter Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2014. A file in Ancestry.com in 2014 offers: "David Dutt is almost certainly the same David Dutt who came to America in 1751 on the ship Duke of Wirtenberg with his brother George. Don Yoder, in Pennsylvania German Immigrants, documents the family from the Weissach Church Records and in Ludwigsburg Protocol, 4-30-1751[ a government record of emigrants] which he quotes: "Hans Jerg Dutt, with two brothers, to Pennsylvania." Hans Jerg Dutt or George Dutt settled in Northampton County, and a third brother, Johannes arrived in 1753 and settled in Lancaster County.David Dutt appears to have resided in York County during the years his children were born; he appears on a 1762 tax list for Paradise Township, York County and 6 children including the two youngest were baptized at Christ Lutheran Church, York.. He does not appear on the Dauphin County tax list of 1770, but does appear on the list in 1778/9 along with his two oldest sons. The name change from Dutt to Toot seems to have occured when the family moved to Dauphin County no doubt to more closely match the pronunciation; however, the name continued to be spelled Dutt in original St. Peter's and Hummelstown church records indicating that the German speaking pastors recognized the name as Dutt, and the English speaking officials spelled it Toot."

Letr in Henry II's reign there is record of the donation by Geoffrey Despencer of the Church of Boynton to Bridlington Priory. When he died, in 1251, Geoffrey left a son and heir, John, who was a minor. When he came of age, four years later, he was knighted by Henry III. This John was influential enough to obtain , in 1256, the Bull from Pope Alexander, which directed the Bishop of Salisbury to agree that John Despencer be allowed to build a chapel, and have a chaplain in his manor of Swalfeld . . ." [41166] http://freepages.misc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~shopefamily/Tree/famf560.html offers: "Thomas and Mary lived in Dover, NH where Thomas served as town constable during which time he and his brother were severely criticized for whipping Quaker women. "In 1683 a newly-appointed governor . . . began ordering new hampshire landholders to begin paying rent to Robert Mason. Thomas Roberts was one of three prominent residents and 'large landowners' summoned to appear before the governor and ordered to arrive at some sort of settlement with Mason. The three engaged Mason in a rancorous session, refused to recognize his title or to pay rent, and demanded instead that the matter be brought directly before the King. Though it took many years of litigation and appeals, the resident landholders ultimate prevailed and obtained clear title to the lands. From 'The Robertses of Northern New England', p. 27." Ancestry.com offers: "Roberts Name Meaning - English: patronymic from the personal name Robert. This surname is very frequent in Wales and west central England."
