Survived by wife Gloria, six children (David of Minersville, Daniel of Oberlin, Diane Pizzo of Minersville, Denise Holubowski of Sunrise, FL, Karen Myers of Lake Meade and Gary of Minersville), a brother, Robert of Lock Haven, nine 9 grandchildren.... (obituary in Patriot-News, Harrisburg, PA). He served in the US Navy (electrician mate) and graduated from Shamokin (PA) High School. Muster rolls of U. S. Navy ships show a John Joseph Dutcavich with muster dates: November, 1945 - USS Cossatot (AO-77 - a tanker serving the fleet in the Pacific); January, February and March 1946 - YMS-475 (an Auxiliary Motor Minesweeper); March 1946 - USS YMS 349 (a minesweeper, sailing from Kobe, Japan); 1 July 1946 - USS ATA 176 (a rescue tug) - his son, David, offers: "The naval musters would be accurate for two reasons: First, the miniscule research that I've done indicates that his name is unique. There are other variations of 'Dutcavich' ( including 'Dutkievicius', the spelling used by my great-grandparents), but if something pops up with John Joseph, it's certainly him. Second, while I only remember him talking about YMS-349, these vessels were small and often swapped crew members as guys were leaving service during the post-VJ period. The first ship, the Oiler, was presumably dad's 'ride' to the western Pacific. The last ship, the tug, shows a trans-Pacific transit back to SFCA, so she was his ride back to the States."
"Republican and Herald [Pottsville, Pennsylvania], 19 February 1999," p. 91: "Minersville funeral director David Dutcavich said it's easy for him to remember how old his family's funeral home is. 'My Dad re-opened Bill Tuson's business when I was 8 months old,' he said. John Dutcavich bought the former Tuson Funeral Home in September 1954. Some might have questioned whether it was a good idea at the time. As in many Schuylkill County communities, Minersville funeral homes went largely unused since the traditions of the time still called for conducting funeral services from the home. And client bases were usually small, as most funeral directors served people from their own ethnic groups or from their places of worship. 'In spite of the odds, my Dad's vision for the future paid off,' Dutcavich said. John Dutcavich recognized that the funeral home, fashioned by Bill Tuson in the 1940s, would become the largest gathering place for funeral services in the community. 'And Dad was able to see that the boundaries of faith and ancestry would also break down,' said Dutcavich. 'Just as America changed through the 50s and 60s, so did Minersville. through inter(faith) marriage and the blending of various neighborhoods within the area.' John Dutcavich died in 1988, just as the Dutcavich Funeral Home was beginning to see the success of his vision. 'Over the 10 years since his death, I often wish he were here to see the fruits of his labor,' said the younger Dutcavich. 'But I also remember the two things that he taught me.' Dutcavich said that excellent client service and adaptability to change are the keys to the continuing success of the Dutcavich Funeral Home. 'We constantly seek input from the families we serve," said Dutcavich. "We might not be able to change what we've already done, but we strive to incorporate client suggestions and criticisms in our future service to others.' . . . ."

He died in 1762 at the age of 51. . . Ruth Sawyer was born on November 28, 1717, in Hebron, Connecticut. She was married on June 10, 1734, in Colchester, Connecticut. She died in April 1760 in Cornwall, Connecticut, at the age of 42." Ancestry.com offers: "Fuller Name Meaning - English: occupational name for a dresser of cloth, Old English fullere (from Latin fullo, with the addition of the English agent suffix). The Middle English successor of this word had also been reinforced by Old French fouleor, foleur, of similar origin. Born July 8, 1898, in South Wayne, Wis., she was the daughter of Ross and Sadie (Hale) Hobbs. She married Robert Ritzman June 10, 1925, in Freeport. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Hedin of Rochester, Minn.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. LaVern (Evelyn) Graves of Platteville, Wis. He was born on October 14, 1946, in Houlton, the son of George R. and Jean (Grange) Sawyer. William graduated from Ricker Classical Institute in 1964, and the University of Maine, Orono, in 1968, with a degree in Civil Engineering. After graduating, William worked for the Iowa State D.O.T. for a few months until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served in Vietnam as a light weapons specialist and a scout dog handler. He walked point with his dog DUG112M. Returning from Vietnam he worked for a large engineering firm in New York, until he moved back to Maine, to work for the Maine State D.O.T., where he finished his career and retired in June of 1995. He was a member of the DeMolay, a past master of Island Falls Lodge #206 AF & AM and a member of Kennebec Lodge #5, a Kora Shrines Klown, and belonged to several other lodges of the York Rite, a volunteer tutor at the local Palermo schools, and a member of several other organizations. He was an avid UMO Black Bear athletics fan and traveled near and far following the teams to show his support. He also enjoyed traveling all over to show support for his nieces and nephews extracurricular activities. He is survived by his three siblings, George (Jane) Sawyer, of Sweden, ME, Michael (Cheryl) Sawyer, of Merrill, ME, and Maryanne Hare of Houlton, ME; three nieces and four nephews, and their children; many cousins and other extended family; as well as beloved friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother-in-law, Michael Hare."
