She was in good health until last Monday, when she was stricken acutely ill. Born in Excelsior, May 4, 1882, Mrs. Karpinski was a daughter of the late Theodore and Catherine (Kroh) Souders. She was married 50 years ago to John Karpinski, who died April 29, 1949. Mrs. Karpinski was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and St. Francis Auxiliary. The following children survive: Edward, Trevose; Lawrence, Parkland; Gilbert, serving with the Army in Philadelphia; Clement, Sunbury; Mrs. Edward Grubewicz and Mrs. Enoch Zero, Mount Carmel; Mrs. Keith Haupt, at home, and Mrs. William Neidig, Shamokin. Surviving also are four sisters, Mrs. Emma Hand, Mrs. Minnie Hawk and Mrs. Margaret Raker, all of Shamokin, and Mrs. Laura Pramuk, Brooklyn; one brother, William Souders, Shamokin; and 11 grandchildren.
