[41067] William is son of William Rotherham (1840 - 1898) and Hannah Hardy Rotherham Turton (1842 - 1917). "The North Adams Transcript [North Adams, MA], 18 August 1919," p.7: "The funeral of William G. Rotherham, aged 53 years, who died at his home on State street on Saturday afternoon, was held from the home at 2 o'clock with Rev. W. Johnes Morgan pastor of the First Baptist church officiating. Interment took place in Arms cemetery. William Rotherham was born in Sheffield, England in March 1866 and came to this country with his parents when he was six years old. Since that time the greater part of his life has been spent in Shelburne Falls. Mr. Rotherham was a member of the Alethian lodge of Odd Fellows of this place and of the First Baptist church where he was a much beloved deacon and was Superintendent of the Sunday school for many years. His greatest interests, outside of his home were in the church, where he gave of his strength and his talents to a great degree. Until his health failed several months ago he was a constant attendant at all of the church services and took an active part. With the passing away of Mr. Rotherham, Shelburne Falls has lost one of its best citizens and his loss will be keenly felt. Besides his widow, he leaves one son Harold Rotherham at home. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Arthur Wilcox of Greenfield."
