Bettie Jane's obituary offers: "Haws moved to Farmington in 1950 where she met and married her husband. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, quilting, home decorating and being with her grandchildren. She was an active member of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, holding many leadership and teaching positions. Haws served three full time missions for the church. Survivors include her daughters, Patsy Clugston, Kathy Robbins, Jody Woodson, Tyra Roquermore, Toni McDonald; son, Tommy Haws; brothers, Manuel Hastings, Roy Hastings; sisters, Irets Burnett, Imogene Keith; 29 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren. Haws was preceded in death by her parents, James Monroe Hastings, Eda Gertrude Phillips Hastings; husband, Otis Paul Haws; son, Rocky Haws; brothers, James Hastings, Glen Hastings; sisters, Leona Hastings, Marie Robeson, Juanita Bean, Lula Hastings; grandson, Jeffery McDonald."

[43666] "The Perry County Democrat [Bloonfield, PA], 20 March 1918," p. 3: "Mrs. Thomas Owen, of Wheatfield township, died in the Harrrisburg hospital on Sunday morning about 10.15 following an operation for gall stones on the previous Tuesday. Mrs. Owen seemed to be getting along nicely after the operation but on Saturday night she grew rapidly worse and Mr. Owen was sent for. She had been sick about fifteen weeks. She was aged 39 years and 9 days. Mrs. Owen was a daughter of T. W. Tressler and wife, of Juniata township. Her mother died about two months ago. On October 22, 1903 she was married to Thomas J. Owen, of Wheatfield township . . . "
