[53756] This couple and the line of descent is from the unverified file M68M-T92 in familysearch.org. "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 27 March 1901, p. 5: "Ellsworth, Mar. 26 - Rev. Andrew Gray, formerly of Otter Creek, passed away Monday night at the home of Simon W. Flood, South Surry. Mr. Gray was born in 1823, and was known far and wide as tbe Sailor Preacher. He had often preached in Ellsworth, filling the pulpit of the Free Baptist church. He was a G.A.R. man, being a veteran of the war. Two sons survive him, Andrew Gray, Brooksvllle, and Otis Gray, Bar Harbor." https://adventuresincemeteryhopping.com/2018/02/16/otter-creek-cemetery/ offers: "I was intrigued by the monument for the Rev. Andrew Gray and his wife, Hannah Howard Gray. The marker notes that he was 'ordained in the Ellsworth Quarterly Meeting' in 1871. Considering he was 48 at the time of his ordination, I was curious about his ministry. The son of Josiah and Sarah Morey Gray, Andrew was born in Brookesville, Maine in 1823. He was converted to the Free Will Baptist faith at the age of 28, then licensed to preach in 1854 at the age of 31. Why his ordination took place so many years later is unknown. According to the Free Baptist Cyclopaedia, Rev. Gray had four pastorates and had baptized 83 converts by 1887. One account that I read described him as 'a man so illiterate he could not write his own name, but one of strong personality, whose ministry wrought a great improvement to Otter Creek.' His arrival in the area took place in 1872, soon after his ordination."

Smith (Brooksville, ME Historical Society, 2005), p. 56 reports their son Jeremiah Frances Grindle (1831-1896) was part-owner of several vessels.

See NEHGR, Vol. 81, p. 315 which reports "Robert Mohun (or Moone) acquired large wealth, bought the manors of Loders Matravers and Fleet, lands in Baunton (Bothenhampton) and the manor of Maurgerton, co. Dorset, and held lands in Axminster, co. Devon, that had been his father's and four burgages in Bridport. He was searcher of Port of Poole and a burgess in Parliament for Bridport in 1558. On the north wall of the chancel of the Church of the Holy Trinity, the parish church of Fleet, co. Dorset, there is (according to Hutchins, op. cit, Vol. 1 p. 546) a brass plate with the figures of a man and a woman kneeling at a desk, and behind the man are represented nine sons and behind the woman eight daughters. Above the arms of Mohun impaling Hyde."
