Fecteau, 91, died Sunday evening, Aug. 9, 2009, at Lakewood Manor after a brief illness with his family by his side. He was born Nov. 11, 1917, in Waterville, the son of Charles and Carmeline (Richards) Fecteau. He was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Waterville High School. He was formerly employed at the Central Maine Sanatorium for several years and then was employed at Sterns Department Store. After retirement, he took great pride working and cultivating his backyard flower garden and he enjoyed playing cribbage games with family and friends. He was a life member of the Waterville Lodge of Elks and a member of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Assembly. He is survived by his wife, Georgia E. (Kenniston) Fecteau of Waterville; one son, Clifford Fecteau of Fairfield; one daughter, Elizabeth Glidden and her husband, Edward, of Gardiner; one sister-in-law, Frances Fecteau of Citrus Springs, Fla.; also by four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Olive Fecteau, Katherine LeCours Lemelin and Hortense Bucknam; and four brothers, Richard, Frederick, Charles Jr. and Carroll Fecteau. The family would to express their thanks to Lakewood Manor and the nursing staff and special thanks to nurse Sherry for all her help and assistance. . . . A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, 70 Pleasant St., Waterville. Committal prayers and burial of cremains will take place later at the convenience of the family."

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sandra Pangburn Henderson of Littleton; his son, Stephen Henderson of Littleton; daughters, Karen and Al Butler of Brunswick, Robin and Mark Wellman of Levant, and Lisa Henderson Mooers of Brewer; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Fern Sewell of Houlton; one brother Ronald and Nancy Henderson of Fairfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Ruth; brother, Garth (Dick)."
