Gray and Grace (Dowling) Gray Pendleton, passed away peacefully on Nov. 4, 2021, at the age of 92. He spent his childhood in Jacksonville, East Machias, Maine. He attended the Jacksonville Methodist Church and summer camp meetings on Gardner Lake. His family moved to Corinna before settling down at Hermon Corner in 1944. He graduated from Hermon High School and spent 1 year at UMO. He joined the U.S. Army towards the end of the Korean War leaving as a corporal. He then resumed employment at Swift Premium Co. for a total of 28 years. He was employed by the Malley Detective Agency then Hall Security at the Costigan mill. He retired in 1991. He married Rosanne Pendleton in 1953. They were married for 63 years until her death in 2016. Early in their marriage Ken and Rosy were members of the Hermon Baptist Church. They enjoyed square dancing, as members of the 'Swinging Hicks and Chicks' where his brother-in-law, Bruce was the caller. He was proud to be a volunteer with the Hermon Fire Dept. Ken and Rosanne had many happy trips around the United States in their camper visiting family and seeing the sights along the way. He was a long term member of the American Legion (Arnold R. Kelley Post 200). He happily volunteered for many years at Ecotat Gardens, where a building was dedicated to him. He enjoyed playing cribbage and eating out with the Hermon Senior Citizens. He was happy to socialize and share his quiet sense of humor. Ken was predeceased by his parents; and stepmother, Phyllis Gray; his beloved wife, Rosanne; and 2 sisters: Teresa Charlene (Gray) Norman and husband, Bill, and Gwendolyn (Gray) Trenholm and husband, Bruce. Ken is survived by his daughters, Cindy Little and husband, Roy, of Carmel, and Nancy DeLong and husband, Brent, of Bangor; one half brother, Maxwell (Gene) Gray of Machias; one stepsister, Mary Beal of Georgia; 4 grandchildren: Bryan Little of Orono, Lauren Pearson and husband, David, of Frontenac, KS, Scott DeLong and wife, Kelsey, of Bangor and Katelyn Boucher and husband, Mark, of Pittsfield; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Sylvia Leibensperger of Stephentown, NY; 5 nieces: Priscilla Frenette, Glenda Boyd, Laura Leibensperger, Kate Dillon, and Roslyn Pitt; and 4 great-grandchildren and many wonderful friends."

The funeral services were conducted oy his pastor, Rev. E. J. Heilman, Funeral director, John H. Miller had charge of the remains. Mr. Welker was born on Dec. 14, 1840 He was confirmed a member of Simeon's Reformed church on May, 15, 1858 by Rev. Kieffer. He was married by the Rev. Stiely to Miss Sallie Faust. To this union there were born three children of whom two, a son George A. and a daughter, Sarah A., Mrs. John A. Miller, survive. His wife preceded him in death by fifteen years. He is survived also by twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was aged 74 years, 4 months, and 24 days."
