[22778] http://web.upstate.edu/branagak/ghtout/t4p282.htm provides this child and his line - he and his ancestry are duplicated as Richard ("le Goz"), Vicomte d'Avranches in this database! Cf. http://freespace.virgin.net/c.crane/Ancient/Ancient.htm which reports Richard was a "companion of William the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings, son of Toustien le Goz and Judith de Montanolier, was born about 1025 in Avranches, Normandy, France. He died in 1066. He married Emma de Conteville. 'Richard Goz, Vicomte d'Avranches, or more properly of the Avranchin, was one of the sons of the aforesaid Turstain, by his wife Judith de Montanolier, and appears not only to have avoided being implicated in the rebellion of his father, but obtained his pardon and restoration to the Vicomté of the Hiemois, to which at his death he succeeded, and to have strengthened his position at court by securing the hand of Emma de Conteville, one of the daughters of Herluin and Herleve, and half-sister of his sovereign. By this fortunate marriage he naturally recovered the lands forfeited by his father and bestowed on his mother-in-law, and acquired also much property in the Avranchin, of which he obtained the Vicomté, in addition to that of the Hiemois.'"

[59916] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 18 July 2025: "Orland, Maine - Curtis 'Curt' Lee Wood, 85, of Orland, Maine, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him. Born on April 12, 1940, in Castine, Maine, Curtis grew up working hard alongside his family on their chicken farm. These early years instilled a strong work ethic and a down-to-earth outlook that he carried throughout his life. After working on the farm until age 26, Curt decided to pursue higher education at the University of Maine, attending both the Machias and Orono campuses. With a passion for learning and a heart for children, he dedicated the next 30 years of his life to teaching 5th grade in Bucksport. A gifted educator, Curt leaves behind generations of students who benefited from his wisdom, guidance, and, above all, his legendary sense of humor. He was always joking and found great joy in bringing smiles to the faces around him. In addition to teaching, Curt found another passion in real estate, delighting in the restoration and management of apartments throughout Bucksport and Orland. More than just a landlord, he treated his tenants as friends, always ready with a story, a joke or a helping hand. A man of many interests, Curt enjoyed his visits to California to spend time with his brother, Charles; and nephew, Steve. Above all, he enjoyed fishing at Silver Lake in Bucksport with his sons the most. Curt was devoted to his family and friends. He was a loving husband to Cynthia Wood; and a proud father to Dan Wood (Sue Dunning) and Mark Wood (Gretchen Pemberton). He was a beloved grandfather to Brayden and Whitney Wood, and Matthew Marcoux. Curt was very appreciative of his loyal friend, Rusty Lanpher. He is also survived by his brother, Gary Wood (Peggy Wood). Curt was preceded in death by his parents, Mervin and Myrtle Wilson Wood; his siblings, Gordon, Charles, Richard and Arlene; and longtime friends, Alan and Deanna Eaton. Curtis Lee Wood will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and strong work ethic. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him."
