[59278] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 5 May 2025: "Carmel, Maine - Norman "Sonny" A. Beckwith, 89, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 2, 2025. He was born in Greenville, Maine, on October 22, 1935. He was raised in Shirley and Rangeley, until graduating from Greenville High School in 1952. Sonny served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 2 years. He returned to Shirley and worked in the Shirley/Greenville area for many years. One of his favorite jobs was driving truck for Scott Paper Company. He made several lifelong friends during that time. Sonny enjoyed camping with his family as well as hunting and fishing with "the guys" up to camp and with his friend, Mike. He enjoyed playing his guitar in church and with Tim and friends from Monson. His granddaughters were his pride and joy. Even through his illnesses over the years, he was still able to see them grow into beautiful, successful women. Sonny was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Reine Beckwith; his siblings and spouses, Bernard (Janet) Beckwith, Ken (Marie) Beckwith, and Joyce (Robert) Dayon; and his son-in-law, Chuck Boucher. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mona (Levensailor) Beckwith; daughter, Lynn Boucher; son, Rodney (Donna) Beckwith; grandchildren, Abby (Connor) Boucher, Leah (Jesse) Enos, Nikki (Zack) Dawson, and Kacey (Adam) Brown; and one very loved great-grandson, Forest Dawson. The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health and Beacon Hospice for their loving care of Sonny."

Snorre names 'Emund, Astrid, Holmfrid' as the children of King Olof by his concubine Edla, specifying that Astrid was brought up in West Gautland in the house of Egil. Adam of Bremen records that the wife of Olav King of Norway was 'rege Sueonum . . . filiam'. The 'Historia Norwegie' records that Olav married 'soror Margarete' after his betrothal to the latter was terminated by her marriage to 'rex Iarezlafus de Ruscia'. Snorre records the marriage of King Olav and 'Astrid, daughter of the Swedish king Olaf'. Her marriage was arranged to appease Swedish opposition to King Olav II's recently assumed rule. She remained in Sweden with her daughter when her husband left for Russia. - m (Feb 1019) Olav II King of Norway, son of Harald 'Grenske' King of Vingulmark, Vestfold and Agder & his wife Asta Gudbransdatter (maybe posthumously 995-killed in battle Stiklestad 29 Jul 1030, bur in a sandbank in the river at Trondheim, transferred to St Clement's church which later became Trondheim Cathedral)."
