[60938] Stanley's obituary: "Stanley Lewis Flaherty, 81, died January 17, 2009 at a Machias Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 25, 1927 in Cumberland the son of Gerald and Hattie (Allen) Flaherty. He was a United States Navy Veteran that served during WWII. He was a member of the Tuscan Lodge #106 AF and AM of Addison. Stanley was an avid outdoorsmen, he was meticulous as to the appearance of his lawn and home, loved playing cards, watching Wheel of Fortune, Flying, and especially loved to hunt and spend time with his grandchildren whom were his pride and joy. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, who he was proud and thankful for all the loving care and joy that she brought to his life, Gloria (Ramsdell) Flaherty, four children; Deborah Pendleton, Dean Stanley Flaherty and his wife Paula, Linda Blackwood and her husband John, and Tracy Ramsay and her husband Ronald, 10 Grandchildren; Matthew Pendleton, Aaron Groder, Michelle Flaherty, Michael Anderson, Jodi Hannaman, James Stanley Blackwood and Fiancee Amy Nason, Carrie Jo Blackwood, Drew, Taylor Lewis, and Anna Ramsay, several great grandchildren, two brothers; Roland and Donald Flaherty, several nieces, nephews, and a special brother-in-Law, Everett Ramsdell. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one sister Hazel Matthews.

She was a graduate of Olney Sanitarium. She is survived by her husband; one son, David A. Anderson and his wife, Vinny, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one daughter, Becky S. DeBurger and her husband, Mike, of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, William Hull, of Olney; one sister, Carol Bush, of Jacksonville, Ark.; three grandchildren, Todd D. Anderson, Robin L. and Steven M. DeBurger; and one great-grandson, Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Wendell, and a sister, Carrie Elizabeth."

"The News [Newport, PA], 29 January 1915," p. 2: "Mrs. Margaret (Trostle) Hassinger, who was one of our oldest citizens. She was bom May 20, 1840, and died Jan. 19, 1915, aged 74 years, 7 months and 23 days. She was married to Samuel Hassinger who, with one son has preceded her to the spirit world. She is survived by eight children - William of Mount Joy, Sadie (Mrs. Arnold), George, Alfred and Laura (Mrs. Foster Hench), all of Shelby, Ohio; Ida (Mrs. John Stall) of Kistler, David of Blain and Ella of the State Hospital, Harrisburg, Pa. Also by 27 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. She embraced religion and joined the church at this place when quite young, and in which faith she died . . . . The funeral, on Friday, was one of the largest at this place for some time."
Margaret is daughter of Henry Trostle (b. in Perry Co., PA, d. 19 May 1889, buried in Stony Point Evangelical Churchyard, Madison Twp., Perry Co.) and Elizabeth Ernest (b. in Perry Co., d. 27 May 1896, buried with Henry). The LDS Church's unverified Ancestral File (MZX3-VF) states that Henry, b. 1 March 1816, m. Elizabeth (b. ca. 1815), daughter of Conrad Ernst [sic] (b. 13 Feb 1788 in Berks Co., PA) and Elizabeth Kuney (b. 21 May 1789, d. 1 April 1823, buried in Union Cemetery, Blain, PA).
