Also called Ashot II 'the Iron' of Armenia. He was born circa 873. He was the son of Smbat I 'the Martyr', King of Armenia. He was crowned by Adarnase, King of Iberia, in 914. He married _____ Sewaday, daughter of Sahak Sewaday, Prince of Gardman, in 917. He attacked by his own brother, Abas, and his brother's father-in-law in 918. He was recognized as King of Kings following Yusuf's imprisonment by the Caliph in 919. King of Armenia in Transcaucasia between 921 and 929. He had the title shahanshah ('king of kings'), conferred on him and his successors by the caliph in 922. He ruled the Armenians after his father at the order of emperor Romanus for eight years (This was seven years after the murder of his father.). In 1823 Judith and William purchased a farm at the west end of Turbett Township, Juniata County, since known as the 'Saylor Farm', which remained in the family until 1884. On that farm William and Judith built a substantial stone house. This homestead would eventually be owned by their son Jesse."

"News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio], 20 September 1937," p. 2: "Pose Wade, 43, of Shelby, was held to the county grand jury today on manslaughter charges in connection with the death of his son, Woodrow, 18, in an automobile accident two weeks ago near Shelby. Wade, released Friday from Shelby Memorial hospital, pleaded innocent to the charge when arraigned before Mayor D. B. Young at Shelby and was bound over under $5,000 bond. He is held in county jail in default of bond. Charges against Wade were filed Sept. 9 by County Prosecutor Glenn W. Marriott on testimony obtained from Wade's second son, Wilbur, 16, who was riding in the car when his brother was fatally injured. The youth, who was only slightly injured, told Marriott his father previously threatened the life of his sons and that he believed the car was wrecked intentionally. Wade received head injuries in the accident, which occurred on route 39 two miles south of Shelby when the car in which the three were riding suddenly swerved in the road and turned over three times. County officials are holding a revolver found near the scene of the crash."
