[45633] "The Rock Island Argus [Rock Island, IL], 9 April 1954," p. 1: "Monmouth - Lyle R. Brillhart, 42, of Augusta, Ill., a Burlington railroad fireman working out of Rock Island was killed instantly this morning at 3:45 o'clock when his auto rammed a Burlington route viaduct four miles south of Monmouth on route 67. He had been employed in the Rock Island area for about two years. It was the fourth traffic death in Warren county this year. The Augusta man was headed toward Monmouth when the accident occurred. Tire marks indicated that he left the right side of the pavement 75 feet west of the viaduct, and his auto crashed into one of the wooden poles supporting the tressle. The huge pole was shoved six inches out of line by the impact. Warren County Sheriff Edgar Drayson and State Highway Patrolman Frank McCann, who were called to the scene, said that Brillhart, who was alone in the car, apparently went to sleep and lost control of his auto. Brillhart was thrown partially out of the auto, and landed face down on the pavement. Drayson said that papers in the man's pocket indicate that he had attended a meeting of the Quincy Masonic consistory, and was returning to Rock Island."

[30023] http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/CHAMPERNOWNE.htm offers: Jordan "predeceased his mother. In the Scutage Return of 1166 he was holding the old Cambernon fief in Normandy and 7 knights' fees in the Honour of Gloucester in England, including 2 knights' fees in Umberleia (Umberleigh) and Becintone (High Bickington). In 1189 he confirmed his brother Richard's gifts (Cal. Doc. France, I. no. 563). In 1190 he was lord of 16 knights' fees "in Devon and Cornwall" (Red Book of the Exchequer, p. 607). He was married to Emma de Soligny, named in a IPM of 1302 (CIPM, 4, no. 82) wherein she is called Emma de Sulenny, sister and heiress of Geoffrey de Sulenny (d. 1265/6) and mother of Oliver de Campo Arnulphi. (Although the IPM calls her son Oliver, there is little doubt he is identical with William.)"

[48154] Doris' obituary: "Doris Alberta Owen, 69, died peacefully March 27, 2011, at a Blue Hill hospital. She was born Aug. 4, 1941, in Blue Hill, daughter of Frederick and Doris (Grindle) Owen. She was a graduate of George Stevens Academy. Doris worked at Union Trust Co. for 44 years. She enjoyed trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas. She loved feeding the birds and eating out with her friends from work. Her favorite hobby involved anything with a motor, including a snowmobile, tractor and a self-made dune buggy. She is survived by her sister, Joyce Hopkins and husband, Ron; a niece, Tambra Hopkins and husband, Dave; a nephew, Grant Hopkins and wife, Lisa; close cousins, Gary Owen and wife, Dorothy, and Carol Bakeman; and stepmother, Alma Gray and husband, Gaylor, and their children, Bonnie Scholl and Scott Gray. She also leaves many caring friends and neighbors. She was predeceased by her parents; a nephew, Paul Hopkins; and an aunt, Florence Owen, who raised her from the time she was born as a premature baby. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Seaside Cemetery, Blue Hill."
