She. was born on March 5, 1917, in North Penobscot, the daughter of Raymond and Annie (Wilson) Hutchins. She graduated from Crosby High School in 1934. Elizabeth then married David S. Shibles on Aug. 4, 1934. She was married to him for 34 years until his death in September of 1968. She was predeceased by two sons, Merlon and Darrell; and a sister, Evelyn Bryant. She resided in Belfast for most of her life and worked for the Belfast School Department in the hot lunch program before she retired in 1983. She belonged to the T.O.P.S. organization, the Eastern Star in Belfast, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Fairfield. Elizabeth then moved to Fairfield where she resided for the last 10 years to live with her daughter and family. She will be sadly missed by all of her friends and family. Survivors include one son, Raymond Shibles and wife, Carolyn, of Naples, Fla.; two daughters, Norine Goss of Bangor, Peggy Pellerin and husband, James, of Fairfield Center; one sister, Bertha Bowden of East Holden; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins."

Virgil's 1942 draft registration states he r. in Orrville, Wayne Co., OH, is a brick layer and was born in Clark Twp., Coshocton Co., Ohio. "News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio], 14 November 1983," p. 7: "Bellville - Virgil H. Stein, 92, of 31 Fitting Ave. died Saturday in Mansfield General Hospital. He had been a former resident of Orrville, Ohio, and had been living with a nephew, Richard Stein in Bellville, for the past six and a half years. Mr. Stein had been employed as a bricklayer and a barber and also as a part-time policeman with the Orrville Police Department. He was a member of the Marshallville United Methodist Church, a mason with the Elliott Lodge of Canal Fulton, the Orrville VFW and the Wayne County FOP Lodge 94. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville. Burial will be in West Richfield Cemetery, Richfield, Ohio."
