Place, 82, a retired North Idaho teacher, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Plummer (Idaho) Congregational Church, where she was a member. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Plummer with Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Place died Wednesday at Garden Terrace Manor in Spokane. Born and raised in North Dakota, she graduated from Valley City Normal School in Valley City, N.D., and taught three years in North Dakota. She came to Tekoa, Wash., in 1935, and then moved to Plummer, where she taught from 1943 to 1962. While teaching, she also earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Eastern Washington University. Her husband of 56 years, Edward Place, died in 1983. Survivors include one son, Erling Place of Plummer; three daughters, Joanne Swarner of Pasco and Ruth Pierson and Helen Evans, both of Spokane; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren."

[57346] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 21 August 2023: "Veazie - Frank Putnam 'Putt' Tenney, 85, passed away August 17, 2023, at Bangor Veteran's Home. Putt was born October 6, 1937, in Orono, the son of Carl B. and Velma M. (Williamson) Tenney. Putt graduated from Orono High School, Class of 1956. While in high school, he enlisted in the Maine Air National Guard (MeANG) in 1955 and attended Basic Training at Otis AFB, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He retired from the Guard in 1987 with the rank of Technical Sergeant. Putt was the sales manager for Shaw & Tenney Oar & Paddle Company that his grandfather started. He was a salesman at heart and worked in sales for many companies over the years. He sold paint for George D. Wetherill and worked for R.M Flagg selling restaurant supplies. He sold chemicals for Dubois Chemical and as the Maine sales manager for Midland Company. He sold city directories as the district manager for H.A. Manning and U.S. West Marketing Resource Group. He received numerous awards and recognition for his work. Putt married his sweetheart, Margaret Seymour, and settled in Veazie. They celebrated 63 years of marriage in April. Frank was a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus Pine Cone Council where he was the past Grand Knight and 4th degree, past Faithful Navigator. He was also a life member of the American Legion 40/8, where he was the past Vice Commander II, and Americanism officer. In addition to his parents, Putt was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara and Eleanor. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Margaret (Seymour) Tenney, are his daughters, Jane Dossiere and her husband, Jeff, of Coos Bay, Oregon, Janet Martell and her husband, Rusty, of Veazie; and Janice Lovell and her husband, Scott, of Veneta, Oregon; his sons, Carl Tenney and his wife, Kathleen, of Bangor; and Alan Tenney and his wife, Traci, of Bradley; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins."
