[52590] Clifton served as a PFC in the U. S. Army during World War II. He is son of Clifton Baxter Miles (1881-1964) & Gertrude M. Hall (1891-1969.; m. 7 November 1908).
Richard is from the unverified Harris Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2014.
FindAGrave.com offers: "Richard Mynatt was born 1728 in England and died 1824 in Grainger County, TN. It is believed that his parents were Richard and Ann Tell Mynatt.
"In 1749,he voluntarily indentured himself in order to pay for his passage to America. He was 20 years old and his indenture was to last four years. He worked as a pastry cook for the Honorable Thomas Lee,Esquire of Virginia, earning 8 pounds sterling per year.
"Richard was evidently such a great cook, that when his indenture was completed, the Lee family refused to release him. Richard Mynatt's place in history is secured by being the first indentured servant to sue successfully for release from his master, Philip Ludwell Lee, heir of Thomas Lee, on July 31, 1754.
"He married Sarah Cummings/Cummins on March 31, 1755 in Prince William Co., Virginia. Richard and Sarah lived in Virginia until 1787. They had 10 children, Leannah, William, Margaret, Elizabeth, Sarah, George, Hannah, Nancy, John and Susanna.
"During the Revolutionary War, Richard and his oldest son William both served under George Washington. Richard served as an express rider because of his age. (DRAPER MANUSCRIPTS, PRESTON & VIRGINIA PAPERS, CALENDAR SERIES, VOL 1, P 173)
"In 1787, he and Sarah sold their land in Virginia and moved to Tennessee.
"Richard served two terms as door keeper in the 1795 session of the House of Representatives of the Territory of the U.S.A. south of the Ohio river for which he was paid $1.75 per day.
"Richard bought 450 acres on 15 Jun 1796 in Grainger County, Tennessee. He lived there with his family until his death.
"He signed his will in 1805, but it was not probated until 1824 in Knox Co., TN (Vol 4, p. 1, Estate Bk. #279563 1824-30).
"It is not logical that his family waited almost 20 years before probating his will so I have estimated his death year closer to the probate date. When I have definite proof of his death, I will add it to his memorial. - Sharron Carroll"

[33952] This person is from the unverified Sandra Whittier Tree in Ancestry.com in 2012. http://www.appalachianaristocracy.com offers in 2014: "John was a blacksmith. He and his family moved from Dover to Exeter in 1689, after selling his Dover holdings inherited from his father. In 1698 he received 60 acres of land from the Town of Exeter. Also that year of 1698, he united with the newly -formed Congregational Church at Exeter. Then, in 1726, he received another 50 acres of land from the Town (Sinnett, SCRIBNER FAMILIES [note 5], 20-22. We learn the names of John and Elizabeth's children (at least, those who were living on March 2, 1735 from John's will. In the will he speaks of sons Joh, Edward, Samual and Joseph (who he named as Executor, leading us to suspect that Joseph was the oldest), and daughters Elizabeth Moody, Mary Gadon (Gordon), Abigail Young, Susann a Mudget and Sara Moody. John and his son John Jr. are mentioned as part-purchasers of King's Falls Saw Mill in Exeter on 7 August 1723, along with Nathaniel Glidden, Henry Wadleigh, Daniel Ladd and others (N.H. Provincial Deeds, 14:179, quoted by G. W. Chamberlain in his book, THE DESCENDENTS OF CHARLES GLIDDEN OF PORTSMOUTH AND EXETER, NEW HAMPSHIRE [Boston: Published by the author, 1925]: 77)."
