Grant, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at Narraguagus Bay Health Care Facility, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 14, 1930, in Steuben, ME, the daughter of Harland and Olive (Dyer) Coffin. Marilyn was known to be one of the most warm-hearted and selfless souls, always putting others first. Marilyn had a beautiful nurturing soul and was loved by all who knew her. Many adopted her as their mother or grandmother. She was known as Ma, Mom, Mama, Nan, Gram and Sweetheart. She was hardworking all her life, working in Dad's shoe store, at the fish factory, making wreaths, and cleaning private homes and businesses. At home she was a hardworking wife and mom. She loved taking care of her family, having family gatherings, taking road trips, gardening, cooking, baking (the delicious apple pies and biscuits), board games, card games, Bingo (she was quite competitive, to say the least), playing hymns on her keyboard, reading the Bible and attending church to worship her Lord and Savior. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Harland Coffin and Olive (Dyer) Coffin; her husband of forty-five years, Wayne Elliott Grant; brother, Richard Coffin; and great-grandsons, Jacob Mathiason, Barrett Whynott and Cain McKenna. She is survived by her children, Nancy Richardson and husband, Jim of Ellsworth, Mary Ellen Jordan and husband, Clyde, of Steuben, Elliott Grant and wife, Penny, of Steuben, Rosalie Mitchell and husband, Danny, of Gouldsboro, Melinda MacLean and husband, Stephen, of Steuben; brother, Evander Coffin of Steuben; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Tracy, Jessica, Jamie, Christopher, Meagan, Brian, Corey, Brianna, Kelsey, Kegan; twenty-two great-grandchildren, Jordan, Diane, Kaleb, Jasmine, Skylar, Cailyn, Sage, Braydon, Jalynn, Bailey, Brooklyn, Autumn, Abel, Rylan, Angelina, Gayson, Karter, Kimber, Lydia, Kade, Kaislee, Kyler; two great-great-grandchildren, Natalie and Levi; many nieces and nephews. Also surviving Marilyn are her two special friends, Ruby MacLean and Gloria Parker. Marilyn will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her."
