Joshua Snow - they had no children, but adopted two sons of his sister who had married a British soldier named Phillips ("Gray Family of Hancock County" [1976], p. d). One of these sons, George Philips Snow, had a son, George Henry Snow, who emigrated to England in the 1860s and had descendants including Ann Gardner (ann.gardner@gardnerfamily.fsnet.co.uk) who contacted AEM in 3/2002.

"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 18 January 1965, p. 2: "Hartland - Alton Littlefield, 62, died early Sunday at a local hospital after a long illness. He was born in Hartland April 6, 1902, the son of Maurice and Lillian Hart Littlefield. He was a member of the Athens Grange the Corinthian Lodge A and AM, Hartland. He had been employed as a road patrolman on the state highway. He is survived by his widow, the former Helen Ham; three sons, Edwin of Pittsfield, and Elwin and Elmer of Hartland; three daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Lawrence of Hartland, Mrs. Esther Butler of St Albans, and Mrs. Ethelyn Bowman of St Albans; one sister. Gertrude Rowell of Athens; one uncle, Fred Hart of Hartland; two aunts, Mrs. Florence Peasley of Pittsfield and Mrs. Pearl Parkman of St Alban;s eight grand children and several nieces, nephews and cousins."
