[3188] Henry m. Margaret of France who m. (2) Bela, King of Hungary. Henry was baptised by Richard, Bishop of London, soon after birth. He was "a vain, idle and bellicose youth [who] rebelled against his father." He was consecrated king by Archbishop Roger of York at Westminster 06-14-1170 as a challenge to the primacy of the Archbishopric of Canterbury (thus fueling the tension which led to Henry II's battle with Archbishop Thomas Becket). {-"The Plantagenet Chronicles," E. Haddam.}
