[12081] His parentage is in doubt - "Medieval English Ancestors of Certain Americans," Carl Boyer III (Santa Clarita, CA, 2001), p. 15, states he is son of William Fitz Geoffrey de Beauchamp (b. ca. 1158, d. by 1221) and his wife Olive Beauchamp. William held the barony of Bedford, Bedfordshire, and was Baron of the Exchequer, Sheriff of Bedford and Bucks, and perhaps is son of Simon de Beauchamp (dead by 1206/7) by his wife Isabella. For proposed ancestry, see http://www.geneajourney.com/bchmp1.html. The Banks/Dean Genealogy (http://gordonbanks.com/gordon/family/2nd_Site/geb-p/p65.htm) states that William "married first Gunnor de Lanvalay before 1207" - "He took part in King John's expedition to Poitou in 1214" - "He held the title of Baron of the Exchequer, Hereditary Grand Almoner, Sheriff of Bedford and Buckshire." Cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_de_Beauchamp_ (1185),
[61437] "The Lewiston Daily Sun [Lewiston-Auburn, Maine]," 23 August 1950: "New Portland - Daniel W. Emery, 87, this town's oldest resident, died, Tuesday, at his home after being confined to his bed for 12 days. He had been in failing health for two years. Born at New Portland, July 11, 1863, he was the son of Otis and Martha Walker Emery. He married the late Etta Williamson, Sept. 13, 1893, and was a resident on a farm on Millay Hill until 1911. He then moved to East New Portland where he purchased the Hiram Weymouth farm. In August, 1923, he married Maria Williamson, who survives him. He sold his farm to his son, William in 1949. Mr. Emery was a member of the Evangelical United Bretheren Church of Kingfield. Surviving are his widow: two sons, Earl and William of East New Portland, a step daughter, Lena Hamilton of South Portland; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren."
