Edward's obituary: "Orland - Edward H. Flannery passed away in Scarborough, on February 17, 2024, with his daughter by his side. He was born May 28, 1932 to the late Gladys (Closson) and Lyle Flannery in Penobscot, ME. Ed served in the United States Army during the Korean War, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and retired from International Paper in Bucksport 26 years ago. Ed enjoyed life with his wife Jeanne (Roi) taking many motorcycle, snowmobile, and camping trips. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren who affectionately called him 'Bampa.' He was predeceased by his wife; a granddaughter, Jill Richards Landers; brothers, Robert Flannery and wife Donna, and Roger Flannery; sister in- law Patricia Flannery; brother in law Curt Varnum; and a special friend, Mabel Bowden. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Richards and her husband Wayne of Brunswick; son, Scotte and his wife Mary of New Limerick; granddaughter, Jana Grant and husband Jason and their sons Eli and Finn of South Portland; grandson, Aaron Flannery and wife Brittany and their daughters Madilyn and Olivia of Hookset, NH; granddaughter, Andi St Pierre and husband Dennis of Savannah GA; a grandson-in-law, Scott Landers of North Andover, MA; a brother, Kenneth; sisters, Helen Varnum, Betty Tweedie and husband Brian, Hildred Emerton and husband Linwood; a sister-in-law, Margot Flannery; sister in-law and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Lionel Harvey. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to his granddaughter, Jana for helping with his care these past few months, and also to Northern Light Palliative Care and Hospice for their wonderful care.

He thoroughly enjoyed the parades and circus seeing the excitement in the kids, both young and old. He had also been a lifetime member of the Bangor Elks. He worked all his life in lumber mills and machine shops in the area, retiring from Hackett Machine and starting his own shop. His greatest pride was his family.
