[29868] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Duke_Constantine_Pavlovich_of_Russia offers: ". . . grand duke and tsesarevich of Russia, was prepared by his grandmother, Catherine the Great, to become an emperor of a would-be restored Byzantine Empire. Although he was never crowned, he is sometimes listed among the Russian emperors as Constantine I. He is mainly known for his abdication from the throne in 1825, which led to the Decembrist rebellion later that year. He eschewed court etiquette and took frequent stands against the wishes of his brother Alexander I, for which he is remembered fondly in Russia, but in his capacity of the commander-in-chief and de facto viceroy of the Congress Poland, he is remembered in his adopted home of Poland as a ruthless ruler."
