He died on 23 November 1842, in Deer Isle, Hancock, Maine, United States, at the age of 91, and was buried in Deer Isle, Hancock, Maine, United States." Ignatious was a prominent businessman in the village of Deer Isle and in 1793 built the Pilgrim's Inn (as it is known and enjoyed today) as his private residence.
