[44472] Viola's obituary offers: "Mrs. Alice Slicker Davis, 70, of 61 Cameron Ave., widow of Alex Davis Sr., died at the Mansfield General Hospital Friday afternoon, following an extended illness. Mrs. Davis was born in Massillon July 14, 1883 and had lived in Mansfield most of her life. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Surviving are four sons, Thomas C. Davis, Alex Davis Jr., Evan R. Davis, and George R. Davis, all of Mansfield; four daughters, Mrs. Merle Beer of Mansfield, Mrs. I. Mary Varner, Manacka, Pa.; Mrs. Earle fox and Miss Betty Jane Davis, both of Mansfield; 22 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; one step-son Wilbur Davis, of Massillon; two brothers, Clarence Slicker of Massillon and George R. Slicker of Canton; and one sister, Mrs. Mabel Garrett of Massillon."
