[45191] "The Times-Tribune [Scranton, Pennsylvania], 26 April 1971," p. 1: "Peter Tomaskevitch Sr., 511 Susquehanna Ave., died Sunday at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, after a brief illness. His widow is the former Mary Ryzanich. A lifelong resident of Olyphant, he was a member of All Saints Russian Orthodox Church. Mr. Tomaskevitch was an Army veteran of World War I and a member of Raymond Henry American Legion Post 327. Also surviving are four sons, John, Olyphant: William, California; Peter Jr., Throop and Joseph, Youngstown, Ohio; a daughter. Mrs. Antnony Chearno. Youngstown; two sisters, Mrs. Stephen Smetana, Olyphant, and Mrs. Alex Begey, Dickson City; a brother, Stephen, Olyphant; 11 grandchildren and a greatgrandchild. The funeral will be Thursday from the Turko Funeral Home, 404 Susquehanna Ave., with Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in All Saints Church, interment, parish cemetery, Peckville." Peter's draft registration in April, 1942 states he is employed by Hudson Coal Co. in Grassy, Lackawanna Co., PA and provides his birth information.
