[21180] Jacob m. 12 July 1871 Elizabeth Baum (b. 9 Feb 1855 in Tuscarora, Schuylkill Co., PA, d. 12 April 1891 in Williamstown, PA, buried with Jacob), daughter of Johann Nicholas Baum and Carolina (Pitz or) Ritz. "The Standard [Lykens, Pennsylvania], 14 February 1919" p. 1: "At the age of 70 years and 4 days, Jacob Hartman died Thursday of last week at the home of his daughter Mrs. E. G. Hoffman, 441 Market St., Harrisburg. He was born in Gratz Feb. 2, 1849, and lived for many years at Williamstown, following the occupation of shoemaker, and was highly respiected by all. Several years ago, when all the children had left Williamstown for Harrisburg, he decided to make his home with his daughter Dora, (Mrs. Hoffman,) who did everything possible to make his declining years pleasant. He is survived by three sons, John H., George and Claude; and two daughters, Dora (Mrs. E. G. Hoffman ) and Emma ( Mrs. Israel Coles.) Also one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Phillips, and one brother, Charles of Tower City. There are 11 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday at 4 o'clock at Harrisburg. Monday the remains were brought to Williamstown where services were conducted by Rev. M. E. Smith of the Lutheran church, of which deceased was a member. All the chlidren attended."
