[33707] "Lebanon Daily News [Lebanon, Pennsylvania], 1 July 1952," p. 21: "Harry A. Bordner, 68, veteran station agent and telegrapher for the Reading Company of Robesonia and Womelsdorf, died yesterday at his home, 201 Penn Avenue, Robesonia. Bordner had been ill for several months, and had retired from railroad service some ten years ago. A director of the Robesonia State Bank, he was a member of the Womelsdorf and Robesonia Joint Water Authority for a number of years, resigning his seat on the board recently because of ill health. He was a son of Jacob M. Bordner, a member of the Berks County Prison Board for many years, and Ellen H. Bordner. He was a member of Williamson Lodge 307, F. and A.M. and was the worshipful master of the lodge in 1910. Bordner held the record in his lodge of not missing a meeting in 46 years. He was aslo a member of the Reading Consistory, 32nd degree, Scottish Rite Masons. Mrs. Laura M. (Moyer) Bordner, his wife, died in 1935. Survivng are a sister, Clara A. Bordner, and a foster brother, Charles A. Bright, both of Robesonia."

[13858] Her obituary in The Daily Item 27 Dec 2004: SUNBURY - Bessie H. Mattern, 99, formerly of Rebuck, died at 3:05 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at Mansion Nursing Home, Sunbury, where she had been a patient since Nov. 19, 1998. She was born March 6, 1905, in Rebuck, a daughter of the late Charles and Jennie (Bobb) Treon. Her husband, Guy D. "Gummy" Mattern, preceded her in death in November 1989. Mrs. Mattern was a homemaker, and enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, and gardening. She was educated in the Washington Township schools. Mrs. Mattern was a lifelong member of Himmel's Lutheran Church, Rebuck. Surviving are three daughters and one son-in-law, Betty Nicholas of Sunbury, Mary Klinger and her husband Dale of Halifax, and Dorothy Byerly of RR2 Herndon; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were a grandson, Eric Deloe, in 2003; four sisters, Edna Mattern, Hilda Levy, Helen Phillips, and Anna Wolfe; and one brother, Samuel Treon. Visitors may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Himmel's Church, Rebuck, where the funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Frederick Faust, her pastor. Burial will be in Himmel's Cemetery, Rebuck.
