He was the husband of Betty J. Henry Piper. Born April 1, 1933, in Amberson, he was a son of the late Alton C. and Orpha M. Culbertson Piper. Mr. Piper was a member of Roxbury United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. Retired in 1995 from the former Dauphin Deposit Bank after 35 years of service, he had worked in the Shippensburg and Carlisle offices as a vice president and trust officer. He was secretary/treasurer of Lurgan Township. He was a member of Orrstown Lodge 262, Free and Accepted Masons; Valley Forest 145, Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Oscar M. Hykes Post 223 American Legion and Durff-Kuhn Post 6168 Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Shippensburg; Carlisle Rotary Club;Newburg-Hopewell Volunteer Fire Company, of which he was a charter member and past president (1973-74 and 1991-92); and Lurgan Township Lions Club, Roxbury, from which he received the Lion of the Year award for 1984-85. In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, Mark A. (husband of Charlotte) of Shippensburg; a daughter, Angela A. of St. Thomas; four grandchildren; a brother Kenneth R. of Spring Run; and a sister, Vonnie A. Hammel of Amberson."

On Sept. 5, 1850 she married Henry Sheibley of that same locality and lived there until 1869. In that year they came west and located at Decatur where since they have made their home. Mrs. Sheibley has always been a member of the Church of God. She is survived by her husband and four daughters, Mrs. Henry D.Weikel, Mrs. John H.Rainey, Mrs. Charles Weaver all of Decatur and Mrs. Lewis B. Bassler of Assumption. She also leaves two sisters and two brothers, Mrs.Sarah Spera of Decatur, John Shoemaker of Pa. and W. H.Shoemaker of Decatur. Aside from these she is survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren all residing in and around Decatur."
