Schoffstall, 77 years, of 40 East Grand avenue, Tower City, died suddenly at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville, Sunday morning, February 14. His death followed that of his wife by six weeks. She died January 1, 1960. Mr. Schoffstall was born in Tower City, April 28, 1882, and was at son of the late Samuel and Julia Ann Geise Schoffstall. He was employed at mining for a period of fifty-five years, but had retired in recent years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City. To survive he leaves two daughters, Mae and Elsie Schoffstall, and a son, Harvey Lamar, a teacher m the Williamstown high school, and one grandchild, all of Tower City. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Stewart J. Dreisigacker funeral home, 644 E. Grand ave. Services were conducted by Rev. Freeland L. Hemmig, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, Treo-mont. Interment was made in the Lutheran and Reformed cemetery at Orwin."

Sunday after being in failing health for several years. Visitation will begin today at 5p.m. in the Harris funeral home, Pontiac, where Masonic rites will be accorded at 7 :30 p. m. today. Services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday from the funeral home with Rev. Gene Simon officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. Mr. Schrock was born March 7, 1885 at Flanagan, son of Emanuel M. and Sarah Jane Campbell Schrock. He attended Pontiac schools and later operated a garage in Pontiac. He was employed at the Illinois State Prison as vocational electrical instructor. He married Mabel Green Aug. 2, 1916 at Pontiac, she preceded him in death in 1957. Surviivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Piper, Pontiac; three sons, Harold of Paxton; Charles of Decatur, a brother, George Schrock, Chicago and 12 grandchildren."
