Strout, 85, widow of Judson Strout, occurred on Tuesday evening at her home on Martin Terrace. She was a native and life-long resident of this town, with a wide circle of friends and was highly esteemed. She was a devoted member of the Methodist church and of the Sunshine club. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Arnold Leighton, and her son, Leroy Strout, both of Milbridge; a sister, Mrs. Edith Dixon, and a brother, John L. Martin, both of New York; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren."

He married Elizabeth Snow on 14 April 1787, in Penobscot, Maine, United States. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 7 daughters. He registered for military service in 1775. He died on 29 August 1834, in Orrington, Penobscot, Maine, United States, at the age of 76, and was buried in Marston Cemetery, Orrington, Penobscot, Maine, United States."
