[41802] See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magdalene_Sibylle_of_Holstein-Gottorp which reports "Magdalene Sybille was the daughter of Duke Frederick III of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp (1597-1659) and his wife Marie Elisabeth of Saxony (1610-1684). . . . On 28 December 1654, she married Gustav Adolph, the ruling Duke of Mecklenburg-Güstrow. They had eleven children but no surviving male heirs. This leads to a succession dispute that was settled by the Partition of Hamburg (1701), which redivided the interior of the Duchy of Mecklenburg among the surviving lines."
[46281] "The Perry County Democrat [New Bloomfield, PA], 15 August 1906," p. 3: "Abraham March, an old resident of Spring township, died Friday of last week at his home near Kansas school house. There are very suspicious circumstances reported in connection with his death. The old man was 86 years of age and lived with his children, to whom he had been a charge for several years. The family consisted of two sons and two daughters Henry, Samuel, Hannah and Jane. They are all grown men and women probably all past fifty years of age. Their mother died when they were little children and they have all lived together ever since in ignorance and squallor. The old gentleman had been afflicted with cancer in recent years and it is said that the girls had expressed themselves to the effect that it was time for him to die. Mr. R. S. Eby, a neighbor, took a kindly interest in the old man and told one of the daughters that if her father died she should come and tell him. On Friday the woman came to Eby's and told Mr. Eby that she 'guessed the old tramp was dead, as he hadn't been down to breakfast.' Mr. Eby in formed Mr. Samuel Kuhn and together they went to the house, where in an upper room, lying stark naked on the floor, they found the body of the old man. It is reported that his body was covered with cuts and bruises and that there was a cut over one of his eyes that had penetrated to the skull bone. His body was cold and rigid, showing that he had been dead for some hours. Whether these injuries were inflicted in his death struggles and by falling out of bed will probably never be known, as no inquest was held, but from all reports the old man had certainly been shamefully neglected, if nothing worse. His remains were buried at Landisburg on Sunday."
