"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 9 November 1959, p. 19: "Bucksport, Nov. 8 - Norman Parker Hatch, 58, died today at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born at Deer Isle October 23, 1901, son of Arthur and Abbie (Carter) Hatch. He had been a desk clerk at the Bangor House for the past eight years. Surviving besides his wife Ruby, of Bucksport, are two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Yates of Blue Hill and Mrs. Margaret Andrews of Joplin, Mo.; two brother,s Roy of Orland and Ralph of Braintree, Mass.; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Emerson of Bucksport; seven grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins."

He spent several years working at the Crotch Island Quarry and the remaining working years as a lobster fisherman. He was predeceased by his wife, Eva Mae Dutcher; baby daughter, Alfreda Mae; and one brother, Herman Hutchinson. Survivors include eight children, Rose Gove and her husband, Andrew, Margaret Haskell, Lila Haskell and her husband, Edwin, Archie Hutchinson, Jr. and his wife, Mary, all of Stonington, Judy and her husband John, Charlotte Campbell of Deer Isle, Raymond Hutchinson, Ronnie Hutchinson and his wife, Gail, all of Bucksport; a very dear sister, Louise Gross of Stonington; one niece, Ann Klas and her husband, Bob of Erie, Pa.; one nephew, Elmer Gross and his wife, Mona, of Hopedale, Mass.; an old classmate and dear friend, Thomas McGuire of Brewer; 24 grandchildren, 34 greatgrandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter."
