[18707] "The Lathrop Optimist [Lathrop, Missouri], 7 March 1946," p. 1: "George Riemenschneider, Lathrop barber, passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Riemenschneider had gone to the home of John Bellomy north of Cameron to attend the fiftieth wedding anniversary of that couple. He had not been feeling well for several day but thought he was able to make the trip. Mr. Relmenschneider had been a barber here for about 15 years and at the time of his death owned the shop operated by Jack Stafford before the war. He was a quiet unassuming man, a good citizen and will be sadly missed by friends and family. He had been long active in the I. O. O. F. Lodge; was a Veteran member, a Past Noble Grand and a veteran member of the Encampment and a past Chief Patriarch. George Alfred, son of Adam and Mary Riemenschneider was born near Logansport, Indiana on August 10, 1866 and passed away on Sunday afternoon, March 3, 1946 at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 21 days. He was united In marriage to Maggie Joiner on August 13, 1890. To this union five daughters were born, all of whom survive him. These daughters are: Mrs. Ura Alexander, Mrs. Muriel Bunning, Mrs. Ionia Karvelas, Mrs. Thelma Barr and Mrs. Gladys Garvin. His wife and one sister, Mrs. Lulu Bray, also survive him. He also leaves 15 grandchildren and 12 great grand-children besides other relatives and a host of friends."
