The 3 June 1870 federal census in Penobscot, Hancock Co., ME lists Richard and Sophronia with childen Erving (age 3) and Iilla (1) and reports Richard is a mariner. The June, 1880 federal census there lists Richard and wife Sophronia and six children and reports Richard works in a copper mine. The unverified McGraw Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2020 lists these children with Sophronia: Irvin Bowden (b. 1867)m Lilla A. Bowden (b. 1869), Almon M. Bowden (b. 1871), Winfield L. Bowden (b. 1873), Mary F. Bowden (1874-1942), Linnie B. Bowden (b. 1876), Richard H. She married Sir Alexander Napier on October 9, 1533, in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. They had five children during their marriage. She died on June 20, 1575, in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, at the age of 61."
[43928] The 7 August 1820 in Deer Isle, Hancock Co., ME lists a John Chatto (between ages 16 & 25) in the household of Joseph Dunham - https://boombridgegenealogy.com/getperson.php?personID=I52875&tree=4Februry2018 which also reports "Joseph Dunham was born perhaps about 1750-60, and was of St. Andrews, New Brunswick, when he married Mary (Staples) Chatto of Deer Isle in 1811. It is quite probable that she was his second wife (the 1820 census suggests that older children were living in the household)." This source states Joseph and Mary's Intention of Marriage is dated 25 February 1911 at St. Andrews, New Brunswick (which is opposite Calais, ME).

A posting by Denise Sessler 16 March 2003 in GenForum reports "...they are listed in the 1850 census in Fulton County, OH" but this census shows George to be 54 years old.
