After she raised her family, she taught kindergarten students in the Billerica public schools for 10 years in the 1960s and 1970s. Her husband, Douglass A. Mace, whom she married on June 8, 1942, in Seabrook, N.H., died Jan. 17, 1999. She leaves two daughters, Kathryn Russell of Lowell and Sharon Clark of New Ashford; a grandson, Daniel Russell of Amesbury; and two great-grandchildren. A son, Douglass A Mace Jr., and a brother, David Heinrich, are deceased."
