[57303] Find A Grave memorial 109905229 offers Wesley's obituary: "Wesley Hunter Allison, Sr. of Shell Point Retirement Community, Fort Myers, FL passed away on April 29, 2013 at the age of 92. 'Wes' was born in Ridley Park, PA. to the late John and Betty Allison of Prospect Park, PA on Feb. 6, 1921. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jack, of Port Charlotte, FL; a sister, Margaret Kotzin, of Rydal, PA; and his first wife of 37 years, Anna May McHenry Allison. Survivors: Two sons, Wesley H. Jr. and Barry R., both of PA.; and his loving and devoted wife of his last 33 years, Frances T. Allison. He also leaves behind many loving stepchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren. Wes was a WWII veteran who served with the 3rd Marine Wing as a navigator and aerial photographer in the Pacific with the transport squadron VMR953. Following his military service he returned to his career as instrument engineer at the Sun Oil Company in Marcus Hook, PA. After a rewarding 37 year career, he retired to Fenwick Island, DE where he enjoyed boating and served as Commodore of the Fenwick Island Yacht Club. He was active in his community. He was awarded the Order of Merit for 20 years of leadership service with the Boy Scouts of America. He also served as Chief of Prospect Park Volunteer Fire Company. Wes was an active Mason. He was a Master Mason of Concord Lodge #625 of Pennsylvania and a 32nd Degree Mason, Scottish Rite-Valley of Wilmington, DE. While living in the Mid-Atlantic region he was a member of the Nur Shrine Temple, DE. After moving to Fort Myers, he was active at Araba Temple where he was Commodore of the Mariners. Also he was a member of the International Shrine Yacht Club and enjoyed activities of the Order of Royal Jesters. He was Past Commodore of the Mariners and a member of the International Shrine Yacht Club. Additionally, he enjoyed participating in the Order of Royal Jesters. At Shell Point he enjoyed many hobbies including teaching and creating stained glass, building and racing remote control sail boats, and building woodcraft projects."
