[30706] A file in Ancestry.com offers: "Short Bio of Josiah Everett II - Josiah enlisted in the Colonial Army at the age of 16 (14 has also been written). He was taken prisoner five times and escaped three times; twice he was exchanged. He served under Captain Pritchard and Colonel Greaton for the state of Massachusetts from June 1, 1887 to March 1779. In various places it has been written he served as a private in Captain William Bullard's company, Colonel McIntosh's Massachusetts regiment. He also served as a marine in 1782 and re-enlisted in Captain Mayo's company in 1778. Josiah was five foot, six inches tall and dark complected. After the close of the American Revolutionary War, Josiah Everett II married Rebecca Farrington and emigrated to the then unsettled territory of Maine. They became the parents of twelve children plus two daughters who died while young. In his later years, Josiah became very infirm in body, but his mind remained bright and clear until the last. He survived his wife by about six years."
