Now at home in God's Kingdom, she was born July 26, 1914 in Plain Township, Ashland County, Ohio to Clyde & Hilda Robinolte Austen, was graduated from Polk High School and had been a Mansfield resident since 1940. A devoted and loving wife and mother, Mrs. Pickworth's greatest love was her family. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and enjoyed the TYTQ group. Cooking and gardening were also favorite pastimes. She is survived by her husband, W. Wayne Pickworth whom she married November 22, 1937; four daughters and sons-in-law, Carol & Roger Blackstone of Mansfield, Sondra Marie & Larry Zerby of Toledo, Lana Diane Snyder of Bolivar, Karen Jean; Evan Mercer of Mansfield; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Hanawalt of Mansfield; and a brother, Clyde Austen of Bellville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Wayne Zerby; a son-in-law, Richard Snyder; and two sisters, Esther Starner and Norma Austen."

She was born Jan. 28, 1919, in Otter Creek, to Ulysses and Myrtle (Martin) Harvey. Subsequently, her stepfather was George Burns, also of Otter Creek. Wilda attended and graduated as salutatorian from Gilman High School in Northeast Harbor. She worked for 25 years at the Jackson Memorial Laboratory in Bar Harbor. Wilda was furthermore a faithful parishioner at St. Saviours Episcopal Church in Bar Harbor, where she was a longtime member of the Altar Guild. Wilda leaves behind her brother, Rodney Harvey of New Britain, Conn., as well as her sister, Flora, and husband, Robert Bell, of New Britain, Conn., and Naples, Fla. She also leaves her son, Paul, and his wife, Anna Higgins, of Bar Harbor; her son, Peter, and his wife, Althea Higgins, from Madison, Conn. Wilda also leaves behind her grandchildren, Matthew, Aaron, Scott and Alex Higgins and her four great-grandchildren, Karly, Cole, Sophie and Oliver. Richard, affectionately known as Dick, Rick or Dickie, was the son of Kenneth and Grethe 'Bray' Howard of Castine. Richard was part of the last graduating class at Castine High School in 1961. He served our country for eight years in the United States Air Force during the height of the Vietnam War. In 1971, he received an associate degree in building construction from SMVTI in South Portland and went to work for Brockway Smith Co., from where he retired after 30 years. Richard loved his family and spending time with them more than anything. He had many talents, some of which included making furniture and picture frames. He and Sharon were passionate about their gardens and even created a special park at their house for their grandchildren. Richard was always known for his wit and sense of humor, which would lighten up any situation. His passing leaves a void in the lives of his loved ones. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sharon (Pooler) Howard; son David and wife, Caryn, of Bangor; grandchildren Patrick, Kate and Ryan; sister Janet Sundman and husband, Robert, of Stonington, Conn.; sisters-in-law Sonya Harriman, Judie York, Annette Palanda and husband, Joe, Helen Wardwell, Debbie Tymoczko and husband, Bill; brothers-in-law Jerry Cieo and wife, Jo-Ann, William Pooler, Forrest (Bobo) Pooler and wife, Pier, and Greg Pooler and wife, Debbie; and a very special cousin, Raymond Howard, and his wife, Sue. Richard was predeceased by his parents and by his very special lifelong friend Rudy York, who was also his brother-in-law."
