Her father, husband and brother-in-law the latter Eugene Gregg who succumbed several weeks ago, preceded her in death within a 24-month period."

Information from Perley Leighton via Internet, 4/97: Charles Snowman, son of John and Sarah (Staples) Snowman, was born at York say 1770, died at Weld ME 2 Aug. 1848; married first at York 1 Apr. 1792 (int, 3 Feb.) Lois Stover, who died there 11 Aug. 1809; married second there int. 11 Nov. 1809 Hannah Bennett, born there 15 Feb. 1779, died there 20 Dec. 1863, 84y 10m, dau. of John and Joanna (Grow) Bennett. The will of Charles Snowman of Weld made 17 Apr. 1847; included bequests of one dollar to his son Charles and each of his seven married daughters. His wife Hannah was given the residue of his estate during her life, and after her death to John and James Bennett, sons of Lois and Jotham. "Louisa Snowman the wife of Charles Snowman Departed this Life August 11th 1809. She had been converted about five years & appeared to Live a Calm Christian life. About 3 years after that she appeared to be in a state of distraction Disordered in the head. It was said she came out from the state She was in about 9 or 10 months before she died and raised the Lord." Diary of Rev. Jeremiah Weare Jr., NEHGR 66:158. Weare's diary (NEHGR 64[1910]:181) lists as souls converted in 1804 "Hannah Snowman, Joanna Snowman & Charles Do., Louis Do., Joanna Bennett." Hannah Bennett had an illegitimate child Jotham Bennett, born in July 1808, son of Francis Haynes. She had no other children. She married second at York int. 10 June 1853 John Bridges. (A Mrs. Hannah Snowman had married at York 20 Oct. 1849 Moses Thurstin of Berwick.) A Betsey Snowman, 66, lived at Weld in 1850 with Rodney Stewart. At York in 1800 were Charles Paxton Snowman and wife, 26-45, a male and 3 females under 10, a male 10-16, and a male 16-26 (11110-30010). Children (Snowman) by Lois, born at York:
