Mr. Collar was a graduate of the Maine Maritime Academy and served in the U.S. Navy. He was an engineer with Warren Pumps that later became Ahlstrom Pumps, retiring after 38 years of service. Mr. Collar enjoyed golf, traveling, camping and watching most sports. In addition to his wife of 56 years, he is survived by his children, Matthew Collar (Kelly), Christine Collar, Alane Collar and Margaret Retter (Scott); sisters, Betty Smith and Ruth Freeman; grandchildren, Zackary Retter, Seamus Collar and Shannon Collar."
